New Feature in Elicit

Hi! Today we’re presenting an exciting new feature in Elicit: the ability to quickly vet individual claims within long answers.

When you click on an extracted answer in a high-accuracy column, you’ll now see numbers after parts of the answer. Click on any of them to view the most relevant supporting quotes from the paper for that specific claim.

Previously, it was difficult to assess the accuracy of a long answer, like a summary or a list of methods, since any single quote would typically support only a small part of the answer. With this change, you can avoid spending time figuring out which quote is meant to support which claim. This should speed up the process of deciding whether to trust a long answer or not.

Side note: Did you notice the new arrow buttons on the lower left? With these, you can now navigate between papers in a column without leaving the answer details window. You can also use your keyboard’s up and down arrows for the same effect!
